Family Vacation! (part 2)

This is a continuation of our Family Vacation. Check out Family Vacation (part 1) if you haven't seen it yet...

Its not supposed to rain on vacation!
On Tuesday, the weather didn't cooperate with our plans, so we decided to go to the Loggerhead Marine Life Center to see the sea turtles.

Admission to the Loggerhead Marine Life Center is free, but they do ask for a small donation. All of the sea turtles here are sick or injured. After being rehabilitated they are released back into the ocean. You can follow the sea turtles individual progress online at http://www.marinelife.org/patients.

Everyday I'm puzzling...
Later that afternoon, after completing a challenging holographic puzzle, we decided to have an early dinner at the Thirsty Turtle. Their wings were highly recommended, and did not disappoint. Get the hot wings. The sauce is amazing!  Better yet, go between 2pm-7pm daily for $.50 wings during happy hour!

On Wednesday the sun came out, and we were able to spend the day at the pool & beach.

We also made one of many trips to Publix, but not just any Publix, this store has a 2 story parking garage. They have a cart escalator. Yes, an escalator that locks your cart level, and takes it to the 2nd floor so your watermelon doesn't roll onto your bread. Genius!

After our trip to the grocery store we took a day trip to City Place in West Palm Beach, FL

West Palm Beach Shopping
Dining, Movies, Nightlife & Shopping all in one place.

An interesting name for a bar...

Thursday, My Sister and I went snorkeling at the Blue Heron Bridge to check it out before diving it on Friday.  The best time to dive/snorkel here is at high tide, and a divers down flag is required.

I wrote up another blog post with a trip report & pictures of our Blue Heron Bridge dive HERE. (Are you following my blog?) This is the best shore dive site in Florida, and best of all... IT IS FREE to dive here!

Friday night everyone headed to Guanabanas for happy hour & dinner.

More beer? Sure!  A pint of Blue Moon.
For dinner I had the blackened fish tacos made with snapper & grouper, and served with fresh tortillas, lettuce, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, cheese, black beans & rice, and tortilla chips. They were the best fish tacos I've ever eaten.

Our next stop was the Tequesta Brewing Company.  We sampled six different locally brewed beers. This place was packed on Friday night.

The Sampler
I like to chew my beer...

The six beers we sampled were: Terminally Ale, Gnarly Barley, Der Chancellor, Julios Weizen, Latest Batch, and Rye IPA.  My favorite was the Rye IPA. At 7.1% ABV, this is defiantly a beer drinkers beer. If you're ever in the Jupiter, FL area, swing by Tequesta Brewing Co. and grab a pint (or growler) of Rye IPA.

That's all for now. I'm still going through pictures, and I will add more as I get to them. Thanks for reading. Please follow & comment.
